The Bridge
The bridge holding the strings on the liuto forte was developed by Benno Streu (Freiburg) and is a protected Utility Model. It is more different from the classic lute bridge in appearance nor weight, but is fitted with a defined and rigid seating for each separate string. This construction improves the transmission of string vibration to the soundboard, with considerable less loss of energy than the lax loops on the old lute bridges.
